Decision Wheel
Add your own options, spin the wheel and let an equal-chance random pick settle a small decision.
How to use it
- Replace the example choices with 2–50 distinct options, one per line.
- Spin the wheel. The pointer lands on the selected segment; the result is also written as text.
- Review a card of the selected option and share it from your device’s menu, copy it, spin again or reset to restore the example list. Editing options cancels an unfinished spin.
Examples
Choose lunch
- Input
- Pizza Pasta Salad
- Result
- One of the three choices, each with probability 1/3. A future spin may select the same meal again.
How the wheel chooses an option
Every listed option receives one equally sized segment and the same selection probability. The choice comes from Web Crypto randomness with rejection sampling, avoiding the bias of simply taking an arbitrary random integer modulo the option count.
The spin animation visualizes a choice already made by the random generator. It does not change the probability based on animation duration, label length or previous winners. Each new spin may choose the same option again.
Preparing a useful list
Blank lines are ignored; duplicate options are rejected so accidental repetition does not add hidden weighting. Each option is limited to 80 characters, and the wheel accepts at most 50 options.
For longer lists the drawing uses segment numbers that follow the order of the entries; the complete chosen text appears in the result. Reduced-motion preferences skip the long spin. The list is not saved or shared, and this tool is not a certified lottery or gambling system.
Questions, answered.
Can I give an option extra weight?
Not in this version. Duplicate entries are rejected and every distinct option has the same probability.
Does the wheel remember earlier winners?
No. Repeated spins are independent and selecting the same option again is possible.
Can I use a keyboard or reduced motion?
Yes. The spin is a standard button, the result is announced once, and reduced-motion preferences shorten the animation.
