Convert a JPEG or PNG to PNG, JPEG or WebP without uploading the original.
Image Resizer
Resize a JPEG or PNG by dimensions or percentage, with optional aspect-ratio preservation.
How to use it
- Choose a static JPEG or PNG, within the file and pixel limits.
- Choose pixels or percentage. In pixels mode, enter a bounding box and keep aspect ratio, or turn it off to stretch.
- Resize, check the resulting dimensions and preview, then download in your chosen format.
Examples
Fit a landscape photo without distortion
- Input
- 1,000 × 500 image; bounding box 800 × 600; preserve aspect ratio
- Result
- 800 × 400 pixels. Alternatively, 50% produces 500 × 250 pixels.
Fit, stretch and percentage resizing
With aspect ratio enabled, width and height define a bounding box: both limits are respected and the original proportions stay intact. Disable it to force exact dimensions, which can distort the image.
Percentage scaling applies to both sides; 50% halves each side and leaves roughly one quarter of the original pixels. Enlargement is allowed up to the output limits, but cannot recover missing detail.
File limits and export behavior
Static JPEG/PNG inputs: at most 10 MiB, 20 million pixels and 10,000 pixels per side. Outputs: at most 4,096 pixels per side and 16 million pixels total. Percentages range from 1% to 400%.
PNG supports transparency; JPEG fills it with white. Canvas removes metadata and may alter colors. File size depends on content, format and quality; fewer pixels do not guarantee a smaller file.
Questions, answered.
Why is the height different from my box?
With aspect ratio enabled, the image fits inside the box. One side can be smaller so the image is not stretched.
Can I enlarge an image?
Yes, within 4,096 pixels per side and 16 million pixels total. Enlargement cannot create original detail.
Are files retained after resizing?
No. Files and previews stay in browser memory. Reset or leave the page to clear them.
